Tata Motors had introduced the Nexon sub-4 meter SUV in 2017. The SUV was an instant hit, as it offered multiple variants, engine options and unique styling. The company had introduced the updated version of the Tata Nexon compact SUV in September 2023. With the major facelift, the Tata Nexon received bolder styling and a feature-loaded interior.
The styling of the new Nexon is inspired from the Curvv SUV Coupe concept and the Harrier EV concept. The SUV features a new slimmer front grille, flanked by split LED headlamps and LED DRLs which also work as swiping turn indicators. The SUV rides on new 16-inch diamond cut alloys. At the back, the new Nexon has Y-shaped LED tail-lights which are connected via a lightbar.

The new Nexon compact SUV is available in around 100 variants, spread across petrol and diesel engine options. This compact SUV is priced at Rs 7.99 lakh, which goes up to Rs 15.80 lakh for the top-end variant. This compact SUV directly rivals the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Mahindra XUV 3XO and others in the league.

The new Nexon compact SUV comes equipped with a host of exciting new features. It comes with dual 10.25-inch screens for infotainment and the digital driver's display. The infotainment unit is compatible with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. There is a new twin-spoke multi-functional steering wheel with illuminated Tata logo. Manual buttons are replaced by touch-based controls for the HVAC.
In terms of features, the new Tata Nexon compact SUV gets 9-speaker JBL speakers, a wireless phone charging, ventilated front seats, a 360 degree surround view camera, a factory-fitted single-pane electric sunroof and 60:40 split fold rear seats.

This compact SUV is available with two engine options - a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder turbo petrol and a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder turbo diesel. While the former is good for 118.2bhp and 170 Nm of torque, the oil burner produces 113.3bhp and 260 Nm of torque. Gearbox choices include a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed manual, an AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic unit. It offers 3 driving modes - Sport, City and Eco.
The new Tata Nexon petrol is claimed to offer a fuel economy of 17.44kmpl with MT, 17.18kmpl with AMT and 17.01kmpl with dual-clutch gearbox. The diesel returns an ARAI certified mileage of 23.23kmpl with manual gearbox. The efficiency rises to 24.08kmpl with the AMT gearbox.
