The partnership between MG Motor India and the JSW Group will see the launch of electric vehicles in the Indian car market. MG Cloud EV, among all, is expected to be the first model to arrive. The electric MPV is sold as Wuling Cloud MPV in Indonesia, however, for India, it will be rebadged as MG Cloud EV. Scheduled to launch later this year, the upcoming Cloud EV could be priced under Rs 20 lakh.
In terms of dimensions, the electric MPV will measure 4,295 mm long, 1,850 mm wide, and 1.652 mm tall with a wheelbase of 2,700 mm. It will be a 5-seater with 2 rows of seating.
Overall, it will feature a minimalistic design and clean surfacing with full-width LED light bars at the front and rear. It will have flush door handles too. Even on the inside, the Cloud EV will continue to use the modest design with a spacious cabin.
It will come equipped with a large 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and leather seats with different comfort features such as 'sofa mode' with a 135-degree backseat reclining system. It is also expected to offer a 360-degree camera and ADAS suite just like a global model.
Overseas, the Cloud EV is packed with two battery options; 37.9 kWh and 50.6 kWh, offering a range of 360 km and 460 km, respectively. However, it is yet to be confirmed which battery pack will be offered for the India-spec version.
