MG Motor India has unveiled its Comet EV Gamer Edition in the country. The new variant will sit above the micro EV’s three trims. Compared to the regular versions, the Comet Gamer Edition gets a number of cosmetic changes on the exterior and the interior. We take a closer look.
The New Comet EV Gamer Edition has been conceptualized by Naman Mathur who is a well-known gamer. His nickname goes as the MORTAL in the highly popular online game PUBG. Changes over the regular variants are strictly cosmetic, with no changes to the overall design.
The British automobile marque has provided the Special Edition accents on its alloy wheels, a contrasting blue shade on the roof and near the windscreen alongside purple stickers around the rear three-quarters of the vehicle. The brand claims that the styling is inspired by the gaming community and “emphasizes the dark and light” themes.
Moving on the inside, the interior of the unique edition offers a few changes. The steering wheel and seats now feature neon blue and purple highlights for the gamer-type of feel. In terms of the feature list, the equipment stays the same. You get dual 10.25-inch displays for the digital instrument cluster and infotainment system. Further, there is connected car tech, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, keyless entry and go, and rear parking camera with sensors among many others.
The new MG Comet EV Gamer Edition uses a 17.3 kWh battery pack that powers a single-electric motor. It makes 41 bhp with 110 Nm of peak torque. The manufacturer claims that the EV has an ARAI-certified range of 230 km on a single full charge, which takes seven hours to recharge via the 3.3 kW onboard charger.
The company has priced the Comet EV Gamer Edition at Rs 8.63 lakh (ex-showroom). This is a premium of Rs 64,999 over the EV’s top-of-the-line trim.
