The Korean automaker, Kia has posted a year-on-year sales growth of 10 percent in the Indian market in January 2026. The company sold a total of 27,603 units compared to 25,025 units in January 2025. While most of the Kia cars posted positive sales, the Syros failed to deliver on the lines of Kia’s expectations.
The new-gen Kia Seltos has contributed significantly to company’s growth in January 2026. Kia dispatched a total of 10639 units of the new Seltos to dealerships last month, as against 6,470 units in January 2025. The SUV posted a YoY sales growth of 64 percent. The SUV also managed to beat the much-hyped Tata Sierra in first month of sales. Tata dispactched 7000 units of the Sierra in Jan 2026.
The Sonet compact SUV was the brand’s best-seller, as it posted a total sales of 10998 units in January 2026 as against 7,194 units in the same month last year. Its year-on-year sales increased massively by 53 percent.
The Carens + Clavis contributed 5633 units in the brand’s total sales in Jan 2026. It shows a marginal YoY sales growth of just 2 percent. On the other hand, Kia dispatched 58 units of the Carnival MPV to dealerships compared to 293 units in January 2025.
Th biggest heartbreak for Kia comes in the form of Syros. The company sold only 275 units of the compact SUV in January 2026 as against 5546 units in the same month a year ago, posting a dismal YoY sales decline of 95 percent.
