New Hyundai SUV spotted in Mumbai Gets boxy design and upright stance Likely to get an AWD system
It is no secret that Hyundai is preparing multiple new SUVs, including a sub-4 meter Bayon Crossover and the next-gen Creta. Interestingly, a brand new Hyundai SUV has been caught testing on the streets of Mumbai. Details about the new model is yet to be revealed, but it appears to be an all-new model with boxy and rugged styling.
The spy shots suggest that the new model could be the next Hyundai’s lifestyle SUV in our market. It has an upright stance and a boxy profile with flat roof and usable roof rails. The SUV seems riding on 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels wrapped with thick MRF tyres that adds to its rugged look. Also visible are the flared wheel arches with thick plastic body cladding and a thick C-pillar.

Other highlights include flush-fitting door handles, a sporty looking rear spoiler with integrated stop lamp, a shark fin antenna and LED tail-lights with dotted internals. The tail-lights seem largely identical to the ones offered with the Hyundai Ioniq 5. The new Hyundai SUV has a flat tailgate which adds to its boxy profile. There is a big rear bumper that houses the number plate.
While cabin pictures are yet to be revealed, media reports reveal that the SUV gets a large 10-inch digital instrument console and a 10-inch infotainment touchscreen. The SUV is likely to share cabin features with the latest Hyundai SUVs including the Venue and the upcoming Creta. A camera module mounted on the ORVMs are visible, suggesting a 360-degree camera offering. The SUV will have LEVEL 2 ADAS, leatherette seats, panoramic sunroof, ventilated and powered front seats, wireless charging, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and others.
In an investor summit in October 2025, Hyundai had teased a new muscular model with off-road capabilities. The company had also confirmed a new off-road capable SUV and the Palisade SUV for the Indian market. Going by the size and shape, we can expect the new model could be the brand’s next off-road capable SUV. It could be based on a new monocoque platform with an all-wheel-drive system and a higher ground clearance.
