Audi has announced to unveil the next-generation A6 (ICE-powered) globally on March 4. This luxurious sedan was supposed to be called A7. However, the ICE-powered A6 will continue using its nameplate as Audi has decided to go back to its previous naming strategy. There is also an electric iteration of the sedan, named A6 e-tron which is currently on sale in select international markets. In India, it is expected to launch later this year.
Here is what we know so far about the ICE-powered A6:
From the design perspective, the Audi A6 will boats its brand's design language. Up front, it will feature large vertical ait intakes on bumper, sleek headlights with Audi's Matrix LEDs, and Audi's signature hexagonal grille.
Based on the brand's PPC platform, the sixth generation A6 will be offered in petrol and diesel engine choices. However, in India, it is likely to get diesel engine only. The TDI varaints could get a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine while the TFSI models could get 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine. Both powertrains will be paired to a 48V mild hybrid system and a 7-speed dual clutch transmission. It is also said that some markets could introduce the S6 variant powering the 3.0-litre turbo petrol V6.
