Tata Motors is gearing up to launch the electric iteration of its popular Harrier SUV. The electrified Harrier will be offered with cutting-edge features, modern design elements, and an impressive electric range. All in all, the Harrier EV will be positioned as a strong contender in the electric SUV segment. Here is what one can expect from the New Harrier EV:
Tata Harrier EV will retain the signature design language of its ICE cousin but with some bespoke alterations to suit the electric variant. These include a closed-off front grille, interconnected LED lights for front and rear aspects, and aerodynamically optimized alloy wheels. The cabin will capture a luxuriousness and tech feel with features such as a 12.3-inch infotainment system, ventilated seats for the front, and even a sunroof with mood lighting. Interior amenities will also include a configurable multifunction steering wheel, wireless phone charging, and a gesture-controlled powered tailgate.
It will be built on Tata's OMEGA Arc platform with a dual-motor all-wheel drive setup. The vehicle will reportedly have support from a 60-80 kWh battery pack, which will further ensure the EV gets a certified range of more than 500 km on full charge. Fast charging, V2L and V2V capabilities make the vehicle extremely versatile for long-distance travel and charging other devices.
Tata's safety norms can be seen in the Harrier EV. The electric SUV will come with seven airbags, a 360-degree view camera, and ESP. It will include hill-hold control and hill-descent control along with ADAS to offer more safety to the drivers, among others.
The Harrier EV is expected to launch in January 2025 with an estimated price range of Rs. 24 lakh to Rs. 30 lakh, ex-showroom. There are likely to be Medium Range and Long Range variants.
Tata Harrier EV will compete with electric SUVs like Mahindra XUV.e8, Maruti eVitara, and Hyundai Kona electric right away on launch. So the chances of success for the car are pretty high because it's not only premium but also offers greater range.
With a strong body, the latest technology, and a competitive price, Tata Harrier is expected to show a massive presence in the Indian electric SUV market in terms of both performance and luxury for the more conscious citizens in terms of the environment.
