Toyota Hyryder 7-seater spotted testing in India. Hybrid power, AWD option and Level 2 ADAS likely. Launch expected in late 2026 or 2027.
Toyota is preparing a bigger version of the Urban Cruiser Hyryder for the Indian market. The upcoming 7-seater SUV has already been spotted testing on public roads. It is expected to launch in late 2026 and will target large families looking for a practical and feature-packed SUV.
The new three-row model will sit above the current 5-seat Hyryder and could become an important product for the brand.
The 7-seater version appears to carry forward the same overall design as the standard model. Spy images show familiar styling elements such as split headlamps, 17-inch alloy wheels, strong body cladding and slim LED tail lamps.
Toyota seems to have retained the same wheelbase but extended the rear section to accommodate the third row. This allows space for two extra passengers without drastically changing the SUV’s proportions.

The addition of a third row is expected to reduce boot space compared to the 5-seater, which offers up to 373 litres depending on the variant.
However, the last row may get practical features such as USB Type-C charging ports, cupholders and dedicated AC vents to improve comfort.
Inside the cabin, the 7-seat Hyryder could offer premium features like a panoramic sunroof, power tailgate with gesture control, ventilated front seats with 8-way electric adjustment for the driver, head-up display and a cooled wireless charger.
A 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system are also likely to be part of the package.
Toyota may equip the new 7-seater with Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Features could include adaptive cruise control, lane assist and emergency braking.
Other expected safety equipment includes six airbags and a 360-degree camera system.
The 7-seater Hyryder is expected to continue with the same powertrain options as the 5-seater model.
The mild-hybrid version uses a 1.5-litre petrol engine producing 102 hp and 136.8 Nm of torque. It may come with a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
The strong hybrid version combines a 1.5-litre petrol engine with an electric motor and is expected to feature an e-CVT transmission.
Interestingly, the test vehicle was spotted with an all-wheel-drive setup. This could be offered with the mild-hybrid automatic variant.
Toyota has not officially confirmed the launch date yet. However, reports suggest the 7-seat Hyryder could arrive in India by late 2026 or sometime in 2027.
With growing demand for three-row SUVs, the new Toyota Hyryder 7-seater is expected to take on rivals like the Hyundai Alcazar and strengthen Toyota’s SUV portfolio in India.
