Tata to launch Sierra EV by FY26 Will be offered in two seating configurations Likely to get an ADAS and an electric sunroof
Tata Motors is preparing to launch a range of new cars in the next two years. One of these will be a new-gen Sierra EV which is expected to arrive in India by the end of 2025. It is also said that after launching the electric version, Tata could also bring its ICE-powered model later in the market.
The Sierra EV concept was showcased at Auto Expo 2023 alongside the Harrier EV concept. Tata had also filed the design patent for the upcoming Sierra, giving us an idea of its design.
In terms of exterior design, it will look more or less similar to what we have seen in the concept model. Some of its exterior features might include a closed-off front grille, big bumper, LED headlamp setup, full-width LED strip, squared wheel arches, thick body cladding all around the vehicle, flush door handles, and large alloy wheels.

The electric SUV is likely to be available in two seating layouts - the 5-seater with rear bench seat and the 4-seater lounge configuration. The lounge variant will also have independent seats at the back with electric adjustment functionality.

Feature-wise, the EV could come with a twin-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel with the illuminated brand logo, a large free-standing touchscreen for infotainment, and a digital instrument console.
Some of the premium features are also expected to be on offer. These include ADAS, ambient mood lighting, an electric sunroof, and a digital driver's display.
The upcoming SUV will be based on Tata's Gen2 platform which underpins other Tata cars such as Punch EV. This platform is also compatible with differently-sized vehicles and different body styles. Even the upcoming Harrier EV will also use the same architecture.
Tata has not revealed any specification details for the Sierra EV. It is expected to get a 60 or 80kWh battery pack, offering a range of 500 km on a single charge. The company will also introduce a dual-motor version of the lifestyle SUV for AWD functioning.
Apart from Sierra EV, Tata will also launch its Curvv EV in the coming months. Tata Nexon CNG and Harrier EV are also in the pipeline.
