Here is a list of top upcoming cars that will be priced between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 20 lakh in the Indian market.
The first model in our list of upcoming cars between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 20 lakh is the third-generation Renault Duster. Scheduled to be launched in Q1, 2026, the new-gen Duster SUV will be a direct rival to the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara and others in the category. The SUV is designed and developed on Renault-Nissan Alliance's CMF-B modular platform, which will also underpin a 3-row SUV.
The new Duster will come with a more modern cabin with features like a free-standing touchscreen infotainment unit, a digital instrument panel, connected car tech, ventilated front seats, powered driver seat and others. It is likely to be offered with two petrol engines - a 1.5L NA petrol and a 1.3L turbo petrol.

Japanese automaker, Nissan will also launch its own version of the Duster SUV in India in 2026. The company has already revealed the teaser showing its front fascia. It will be based on the Renault-Nissan Alliance's CMF-B modular platform. A 7-seater derivative of the SUV is also under development. While the platform and engine options will be shared with the Duster, the new Nissan SUV will have its own design and interior packaging.

The next model in our list of top upcoming cars under Rs 20 lakh is the Tata Sierra ICE. Likely to be launched by October 2025, the new Tata Sierra will be a lifestyle SUV and will sit between the Curvv and Harrier. It will come as a premium alternative to the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and others in the category. The Sierra will be the first Tata Motors car to offer 3 screen layout, featuring a touchscreen infotainment unit, a digital instrument console and a passenger entertainment screen.
The Tata Sierra is based on the brand's new ATLAS platform that also underpins the Curvv. It will be powered by Tata's new 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine that produces 175PS. The diesel version will get the tried & tested 2.0L Kryotec unit that powers the Harrier and Safari. Transmission choices are likely to include a 6-speed manual, a 7-speed DCA and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic.

Maruti Suzuki is developing an all-new entry-level MPV, which is rumoured to be based on the Spacia on sale in Japan. The new model will be based on Suzuki's HEARTECT platform that also underpins the Fronx and Dzire. It is reportedly to be launched sometime in 2026. This sub-4 meter MPV will directly rival the Renault Triber. While the Spacia is 3.4 meter long mini Van, the India-spec model will be stretched up to 4 meters.
Internally codenamed YDB, the new Maruti MPV is likely to get a new in-house developed Series-parallel hybrid engine. The MPV's hybrid engine is likely to comprise the new Z12E 12.L 3-cylinder engine, a 1.5-2kWh battery pack and an electric motor.

Mahindra is testing an electric derivative of the new XUV 3XO sub-4 meter SUV. Likely to be launched in 2025 or early 2026, the new Mahindra XUV 3XO EV will be a direct rival to the Tata Nexon EV. This electric SUV will share a strong resemblance with its ICE counterpart. The XUV 3XO EV will be equipped with features like LEVEL 1 ADAS, a 10.25-inch digital instrument console, TPMS, a 10.25-inch HD touchscreen infotainment unit, and others.
The upcoming Mahindra XUV 3XO EV is likely to be packed with a 35kWh battery pack and a front-axle mounted electric motor. It is expected to offer a range of over 350km in a single charge. This subcompact electric SUV will support both AC charger and DC fast charger.

Estimated Price - Rs 13 lakh - Rs 16 lakh
Hyundai's upcoming Inster EV will be the Korean brand's smallest electric SUV and will be priced between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 20 lakh in the Indian market. The EV will be locally produced at Hyundai's Sriperumbudur factory. Measuring 3825mm in length, the Hyundai Inster will be a direct rival to the Tata Punch EV.
The new Hyundai Inster EV will come with two battery packs - a 42kWh and 49kWh - with a front-axle-mounted electric motor. The electric micro SUV is claimed to offer a 355km range on a full charge. The electric SUV can be charged from 10-80 percent in 30 minutes using a 120 kW DC charger. The EV will also support the Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality.

Hyundai has started testing the next-gen Venue compact SUV on the Indian roads. Likely to be launched in the end of 2025, the next Hyundai Venue will be produced at Hyundai's new Sriperumbudur factory. It will be based on the existing platform; however, Hyundai will make visual changes to keep things fresh in the market.
The next-gen Hyundai Venue will come with an all-new interior with a new dashboard layout and more features. It will come with LEVEL 2 ADAS tech, a large free-standing touchscreen infotainment unit, a digital driver's display and many more. It is most likely to retain the engine options including a 1.2L NA petrol, a 1.0L turbo petrol and a 1.5L turbo diesel.

Volkswagen is reportedly developing a new sub-4 meter SUV for the Indian market. Likely to be the India-spec Tera, the new SUV will be based on the MQB A0 IN platform that underpins the Skoda Kylaq. It will rival the likes of the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon and others in the category.
The new SUV will be powered by the same 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that powers the Kylaq. This engine is capable of producing 118bhp and 178Nm of torque. It can be had either with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque convertor automatic.

Estimated Price - Rs 7.5 lakh - Rs 14 lakh
VinFast has confirmed that its small city car, the VinFast VF3 will be launched in our market in 2026. This 2-door City Commuter measures 3,190mm in length, 1679mm in width and 1,652mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,075mm. This compact EV offers a ground clearance of 191mm, which is good enough to tackle Indian road conditions.
The VinFast VF3 mini EV is packed with an 18.64kWh lithium-ion phosphate battery pack coupled to a rear-axle mounted electric motor. The electric motor is rated at 44bhp and 110Nm of torque. It is claimed to offer an NEDC range of up to 210km on a single charge. The City commuter accelerates to 50kmph from zero in 5.3 seconds and cab attain a maximum speed of 100kmph. It supports fast charging, which allows its battery to achieve 10% to 70% charging status in 36 minutes.
