Buoyed by excellent response for new breed of cars, Toyota is now planning to launch at least 15 new cars and SUVs in the Indian market by 2030. According to Reuters, the Japanese brand is aiming to grow its market share from about 8 percent to 10 percent in the next 4-5 years. After the US and China, India has become Toyota’s third-largest global market.
The report claims that the Japanese brand will introduce 15 new or refreshed models by 2030, including two all-new SUVs and an affordable pickup. The company is working on multiple new vehicles, and SUVs will play a major role in brand’s aim of achieving 10 percent market share.

Toyota is preparing two all-new SUVs for the Indian market. These two SUVs will directly rival the segment leaders from Mahindra and Hyundai. We already confirmed that Toyota will launch the new Land Cruiser FJ lifestyle SUV in India by 2028. This SUV recently debuted at the Japan Mobility Show 2025, and will first go on sale in the domestic market in 2026.
The new Toyota Land Cruiser FJ is based on the IMV 0 platform that also underpins the Hilux Champ and Fortuner. This ladder-frame chassis is also expected to underpin an all-new SUV. The report also reveals that Toyota is developing an affordable pickup, which will be positioned below the Hilux. This pickup will mainly target the rural and semi-urban buyers of India.
The Japanese brand is likely to give a mid-life upgrade to its popular mid-sized SUV, the Grand Vitara in 2026. The SUV is likely to share features with the new Victoris SUV. Moreover, Toyota is developing the next-gen Fortuner SUV based on the TNGA-F platform. This SUV could debut in 2026-27, while launch could take place in 2027-28.
Toyota is developing a new production facility in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Aurangabad, Maharashtra. This production facility will increase Toyota’s annual production capacity to over 1 million units. In fact, the Land Cruiser FJ along with multiple new SUVs will be manufactured at this production facility.
In order to increase its sales in rural and semi-urban areas, Toyota plans to introduce smaller, lower-cost outlets. These outlets will display limited cars, and will have compact service workshops.
