Volvo EX30 spied in India ahead of launch with up to 474km range. Set to be Volvo's most affordable EV under Rs 50 lakh. Features minimalist interior, Google-based infotainment, and ADAS tech.
Volvo India is all set to launch its most compact and affordable electric SUV – the EX30. Ahead of its official debut, the EV has been spotted testing in India, confirming that the Swedish carmaker is preparing the model for local road conditions.
The test vehicle of the Volvo EX30 was seen fully camouflaged, but key design elements were still visible. These include the brand’s signature ‘Thor’s Hammer’ LED headlamps, flush-fitting door handles, and C-shaped LED tail lamps. The EV also sports a black roof and aerodynamic alloy wheels, staying true to the design of its global counterpart.

The upcoming EX30 will be assembled locally at Volvo’s Hoskote plant near Bengaluru. The India-spec model is expected to come with a 69kWh battery pack, offering a WLTP-certified range of up to 474km on a single charge. This setup is expected to deliver a practical and long-range driving experience suitable for Indian roads.
Inside, the Volvo EX30 is expected to feature a minimalist cabin with a vertically placed touchscreen infotainment system. The SUV will use sustainable, recycled materials across the cabin and run on the latest Google-based infotainment OS, delivering a high-tech user experience.
Volvo is known for its safety, and the EX30 will be no exception. It is likely to come with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), multiple airbags, and a 360-degree camera system—making it one of the safest compact EVs in the segment.
The EX30 will be Volvo’s third all-electric model in India, joining the XC40 Recharge and C40 Recharge. It will also be the most affordable electric SUV in the company’s lineup, with an expected starting price under Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom).
More information about the variants, features, and final pricing of the Volvo EX30 will be revealed at its official India launch next month. The compact SUV is expected to attract premium EV buyers looking for style, performance, and sustainability.
