When buying a new car, some crucial factors must be taken into consideration. Mileage is one of the essential concerns among those factors. It is said that a car's engine has good fuel efficiency if it generates power and uses less fuel. In addition, fuel-efficient cars are light on your pocket as well. If you are deciding to buy a new fuel-saving car, these sedans will be the best option for you to consider. Some of the popular sedans in India include Honda City e:HEV, Next-Gen Hyundai Verna, Skoda Slavia, Volkswagen Virtus, Maruti Dzire, Honda Amaze, and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz which can be grabbed for under Rs 25 lakh.
Here is a detailed list of sedan cars with the highest mileage and their ex-showroom price.
Honda Cars India reintroduced the strong hybrid version of the City Facelift, named e:HEV on March 2nd 2023. The sedan is offered in two variants; V and ZX. Powered by a 1.5-litre Atkinson cycle hybrid petrol engine, it delivers 121 bhp of power output and 253 Nm of peak torque. Honda claims an ARAI Certified fuel efficiency figure of 26.6 kmpl for the sedan. As far as the cost is concerned, the Honda City e:HEV starting price stands at Rs 18.89 lakh (ex-showroom) which can go up to Rs 20.39 (ex-showroom) for the top-spec trim.
The Next-Gen Hyundai Verna is soon to be launched on the 21st of March 2023. Customers will get this sedan in four variants; EX, S, SX, and SX (O) and two engine options. It includes a newly added 1.5-litre turbo petrol (160 bhp and 253 Nm) and the same 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine (115 bhp and 145 Nm) as the outgoing model. The mileage of the current Hyundai Verna lies between 17.7 to 25 kmpl for both petrol and diesel options. For the upcoming All-New Hyundai Verna, expect a higher efficiency figure than the outgoing version for both petrol options. The starting price of the current model starts at Rs 9.63 lakh and goes up to Rs 15.71 lakh (ex-showroom). Expect the new model with a price hike of Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh in India.

It is powered by two petrol engine options; a 1.0-litre Turbo petrol (113 bhp and 178 Nm) and a 1.5-litre Turbo petrol (148 bhp and 250 Nm). It offers the best ARAI Certified mileage of 18.7 to 19.47 kmpl for both powertrain options. Slavia is priced at Rs 11.29 lakh (ex-showroom) for the lower trim while the top of the line variant costs Rs 18.40 lakh (ex-showroom).
