Maruti Suzuki India Limited aims to launch a range of new cars including facelift versions and New-Generations of the existing models. Some of the cars that are confirmed to be launched in 2023 include Jimny 5-door, Baleno-based Crossover, New-Generation Maruti Swift, and Brezza in a CNG avatar. It is believed that the automaker might also launch a new MPV which will be based on the Toyota Innova Hycross.

The most awaited, Maruti Jimny 5-door was recently showcased at the Delhi Auto Expo 2023 and bookings for the SUV were opened the same day at a token amount of Rs 11,000 which was later increased to Rs 25,000. Codenamed YWD, the 5-door version of the Jimny is being offered with a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine. The powertrain will generate a maximum power output of 103 bhp with 136 Nm of peak torque. Besides, it will be paired to either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed torque converter gearbox. All the variants of the off-road SUV are expected to get a 4WD system as standard. The 5-door SUV is expected to be launched in the country by April 2023 having a starting price of Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom).

Another upcoming car from Maruti Suzuki is the FRONX SUV which is the crossover version of the Baleno hatchback. The company has started accepting bookings for the model online and via its authorized dealerships at a token amount of Rs 11,000. The 2023 Crossover will be powered by two petrol engine options. A 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol that would deliver a maximum power output of 90 bhp with 113 Nm of peak torque while the other would be a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol unit capable of producing 100 bhp and 148 Nm torque. Transmission choices would include a 5-speed manual, an AMT, and a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox with the turbo petrol trim. The four-wheeler is likely to be priced around Rs 10 lakh to Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom).

The all-new iteration of the Maruti Suzuki Swift will also be coming in 2023. It is said that the upcoming Fourth-Generation Swift will feature an all-new design inside out, however, it will continue to carry the current 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. This powertrain option can churn out 89 bhp of power output with 113 Nm of peak torque, hooked with a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed automatic gearbox option. It is likely that the 2023 Swift will get an all-new strong hybrid powertrain option with an expected mileage of around 35 kmpl. It is believed that the New Generation Swift will make its global debut by mid-2023 in India.

After the discontinuation of the diesel option in Brezza back in 2020, Maruti will now be offering the CNG option of the SUV. The brand showcased its Brezza CNG model during Auto Expo 2023 as well and it is likely to be launched in the same year. The Brezza CNG will retain all features that are present in the standard model. Besides, it will be equipped with a 1.5-litre K15C DualJet petrol engine coupled with a factory-fitted CNG kit. Its CNG option is said to deliver a maximum power output of 87 bhp with 121.5 Nm of peak torque. Transmission duty here will be carried out by a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Based on certain media reports, it is likely that Maruti Suzuki will launch a new MPV which will be a counterpart of the Toyota Innova Hycross. However, it will feature a different design in comparison to the Innova Hycross. The MPV is expected to be launched at any time in 2023 and it will be the first model in the company's portfolio to get ADAS technology.
