Force Motors is preparing to launch Gurkha in a 5-door body styling alongside the updated version of the existing 3-door SUV. The 5-door model has been in the works for a long time and test mules of the same have also been spied several times. Another teaser has also appeared online, revealing its refreshed interior and new features. Let’s know more!
Based on the teaser, the dashboard of the 5-door Gurkha looks quite similar to the current model. However, the touchscreen infotainment system seems to be larger than the current 7.0-inch unit. Another feature highlight is the fully digital TFT instrument panel, replacing the old analogue unit.
Another change is for the centre console area where the traditional 4x4 selector has been replaced with a knob, freeing up a lot of space.
Safety will also be boosted for the 2024 Gurkha. It will come equipped with multiple airbags, traction control, a new Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), speed-sensing door locks, and rear parking sensors.
The upcoming Gurkha 5-door will retain the current 2.6-litre 4-cylinder diesel engine, paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. This unit can produce a maximum power of 91 bhp with 250 Nm of peak torque. Besides, the engine will come with a 4x4 wheel drive system.
Force Motors is likely to launch the Gurkha 5-door very soon in the Indian market with an expected price of Rs 12.74 lakh (ex-showroom). Mahindra Thar 5-door and Maruti Suzuki Jimny will be its rivals.
