Hyundai India has introduced Hy-CNG (dual-cylinder CNG) technology in its Aura sedan. This technology was earlier introduced in the Grand i10 NIOS and Exter. Now, the entry-level E variant of Aura comes with the CNG powertrain, which is priced at Rs 7.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Let's dig deeper to learn what it has to offer.
In terms of design, the Aura (E) base model features halogen headlights, turn indicators on the front fenders, Z-shaped wraparound LED tail lights, 14-inch steel wheels, black ORVMs, and more.
As for the interior features, the Aura CNG E variant comes with height-adjustable driver seat, front power windows, a 3.5-inch speedometer with multi-information display, adjustable rear seat headrests, 3-point seat belts for all seats, speed alert system, ABS with EBD, seat belt reminder system, and six airbags.
Hyundai AURA Hy-CNG E trim is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine with a CNG choice. Paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, the engine can deliver 82 bhp of power and 114 Nm of torque. When in the CNG mode, it can produce 68 bhp and 95 Nm. It offers a claimed mileage of 28.4km/kg.
Commenting on the launch, Mr. Tarun Garg, Whole Time Director & Chief Operating Officer, Hyundai Motor India Limited said, "At Hyundai, we continuously strive to innovate and offer products that resonate with the needs of our customers. The Hyundai AURA Hy-CNG E trim is a testament to our commitment to providing eco-friendly mobility solutions without compromising on style, safety, or performance. With over 200,000 units sold since launch, the Hyundai AURA is more than just a sedan; it is a statement of style, comfort, and advanced technology, designed for the modern, discerning consumer.
