Jaguar 4-Door Electric GT India Launch Timeline Revealed

Jaguar has confirmed that its upcoming 4-door electric GT will make its global debut in September 2026.

This new model is a major step in Jaguar’s shift towards becoming a fully electric luxury brand.

India Launch Timeline Revealed

The India launch of the new electric GT is expected soon after its global debut.

As per current plans, the car could arrive in India between late 2026 and early 2027. However, some reports suggest the timeline may extend to 2028 depending on production speed.

The delay is mainly due to a cyberattack that disrupted operations at Jaguar’s Solihull plant in the UK.

Based on New Electric Platform

The upcoming GT will be based on Jaguar’s new electric platform called JEA (Jaguar Electric Architecture).

It is also the production version of the Jaguar Type 00 concept, which previews the brand’s future design and technology direction.

Powerful Performance and Long Range

Jaguar is aiming to make this one of its most powerful cars ever.

The electric GT is expected to feature a triple-motor setup producing over 1,000 hp and 1,300 Nm of torque.

It is also expected to offer a driving range of more than 700 km on a single charge.

Fast charging will be another highlight, with the ability to add up to 321 km of range in just 15 minutes.

Bold New Design Approach

The design of the electric GT will take inspiration from iconic Jaguar models like the Jaguar E-Type.

It will feature a long bonnet, sloping roofline and a bold front design.

Interestingly, the car may not have a traditional rear window and could use cameras instead, giving it a futuristic look.

Focus on Comfort and Driving Experience

Despite its performance, Jaguar is focusing heavily on comfort.

The car is expected to get air suspension, advanced dampers and torque vectoring technology.

Rivals in India

In India, the Jaguar electric GT will target the luxury EV segment. It will compete with models like the Porsche Taycan and Audi e-tron GT.
