The revived Freelander is primarily targeted at the Chinese market, with a global debut planned for late 2026. International versions are being developed to meet local regulations and preferences, with Europe already seeing test drives and real-world trials.

While there is no official confirmation yet, an India launch is highly probable. The Freelander nameplate is already well-known among Indian buyers, and the growing demand for electric and hybrid SUVs makes the market attractive.
