8 new cars launching in April 2026 EVs, SUVs and facelifts in focus Taigun, CLA EV, Brezza and more coming soon
April is looking quite exciting for car buyers this year. A bunch of new models are finally ready to hit the market, including EVs, updated SUVs, and a few completely new entries. Some of these have already been revealed earlier, but April is when we’ll get the full picture with prices, features, and actual launches. It’s going to be a busy month with something new almost every week.
Here’s a look at the top 8 new car launches for April 2026:
Volkswagen Taigun facelift, officially set for its world premiere on April 9, 2026, marks the SUV’s first major update since 2021, with production already underway at the Chakan plant in Pune.
Inside, the cabin is expected to get a strong tech upgrade, including a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and an updated 10.1-inch infotainment system. Premium additions may include a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, and even rear-seat massaging functions.
On the powertrain front, the 150 PS 1.5-litre TSI engine will now be offered exclusively with a 7-speed DSG gearbox, while the 115 PS 1.0-litre TSI engine is set to receive a major update, replacing its older 6-speed torque converter with a smoother 8-speed automatic transmission.
With an expected price range of Rs 12 lakh to Rs 21 lakh, the updated Taigun is positioned to compete with rivals like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos, with deliveries likely to begin in the second quarter of 2026.

Toyota is likely to announce the prices of the Urban Cruiser Ebella around mid-April. This electric SUV is expected to offer multiple battery options with a range of over 500km.
A Battery-as-a-Service option could also be introduced to make it more affordable.
Nissan may unveil the Tekton SUV in the middle of the month. It is expected to be based on the Renault Duster platform but with a unique design and interior.
The SUV will likely feature modern styling elements and a bold road presence.
The updated Brezza is expected to launch towards the end of April. It could get minor design tweaks along with feature upgrades.
Mechanical changes like a new gearbox option may also be introduced.
MG Majestor is an upcoming full-size 7-seater SUV from JSW MG Motor India, set to launch on April 20, 2026, with deliveries starting in May 2026.
Positioned as a more premium and feature-packed alternative to the Toyota Fortuner, it will come with a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine, Level 2 ADAS, and a 12.3-inch infotainment system. Bookings for the SUV are already open at Rs 41,000.
The facelifted three-door Thar has been spotted testing multiple times. While not officially confirmed, it could arrive by the end of April or spill over into early May.
It is expected to get design updates inspired by newer Mahindra models.
Mahindra is also working on an updated Scorpio N. Similar to the Thar, its launch timing is not confirmed but could happen towards the end of the month.
It will likely receive cosmetic changes and new features to stay competitive.
