Jaguar’s first all-electric GT arrives in September 2026 Over 1000hp power and 700km range expected India launch likely between 2026 and 2028
The iconic British carmaker Jaguar is ready to take a big step into the future. The brand has confirmed that its first all-electric model, a four-door grand tourer, will make its global debut in September 2026. This car will mark the beginning of Jaguar’s transition into a fully electric luxury brand.
The launch of this electric GT was earlier planned for a sooner date, but it got delayed. Reports suggest that a cyberattack affected operations at Jaguar’s Solihull plant in the UK. This disruption forced the company to pause production activities, pushing the debut timeline to 2026.

Jaguar’s upcoming electric GT is expected to deliver impressive performance along with long range. It will be built on the new Jaguar Electric Architecture platform, which is specially designed for future EVs. The car is likely to feature a triple-motor setup producing over 1000hp and 1300Nm of torque. It is also expected to offer more than 700km of driving range on a single charge, based on the WLTP cycle. Fast charging capability will allow the battery to gain a significant range in a short time, making it practical for long journeys.
Apart from performance, Jaguar is also focusing on delivering a premium driving experience. The new GT is expected to come with advanced suspension setup, including air suspension and active dampers. This should help improve ride comfort and stability, making it suitable for long-distance touring.
The design of the upcoming GT takes inspiration from Jaguar’s iconic models like the Jaguar E-Type and Jaguar XK120. It will also carry forward styling elements from the Type 00 concept. The car is expected to feature a long bonnet, a sloping roofline, and a short rear section, giving it a classic grand tourer stance. Even though the concept was a two-door model, the production version will be a practical four-door while retaining the same sporty proportions.
Jaguar is also introducing a fresh design language with this model. The front of the car is expected to feature a large grille-like element, which is more of a styling feature rather than a functional one, as electric vehicles do not require traditional cooling. This new design approach is expected to define Jaguar’s future models.
The rollout of the Jaguar electric GT will happen in phases. The UK and US markets are expected to receive the car first. India is likely to be part of the second phase, with a launch expected between late 2026 and early 2027. However, there is also a possibility that the launch could be pushed further to 2028 depending on the rollout strategy.
