Jaguar Type 01 Interior – 4 Seats, Central Spine and Hidden Display

Jaguar Type 01 gets a four-seat cabin with a distinctive central spine. The electric GT features hidden displays and digital rear-view cameras. It will offer over 1,000hp and more than 700km of claimed range.

Jaguar has revealed the interior of its upcoming Type 01 electric GT, giving us a closer look at the cabin ahead of its global debut in New York on October 6, 2026. Inspired by the Type 00 concept, the production-spec model gets a radical four-seat layout, a central spine and hidden displays integrated into the cabin.

The Type 01 will be Jaguar’s first production model following its transition towards becoming an all-electric luxury brand.

Four-Seat Cabin With Central Spine

The biggest talking point inside the Type 01 is its central spine, which runs through the length of the cabin and separates it into four individual sections. The spine gets a distinctive brass finish and houses a small display at the front for controlling the climate functions. Jaguar says this screen, along with another display on the dashboard, forms part of its “hidden on-demand technology”. The idea is to keep the technology integrated into the cabin rather than having multiple screens permanently visible.

Digital Displays and New Steering Wheel

The Type 01 features a two-spoke steering wheel with touch-sensitive controls. The dashboard has a different design for the driver and front passenger. The driver gets a digital instrument display, while the passenger side features Jaguar’s distinctive ‘strikethrough’ design elements. Similar detailing is also incorporated into the bonnet, connecting the exterior and interior design. The cabin also features dual-tone upholstery and a low, sweeping roofline with a large panoramic glass section.

No Conventional Rear Windscreen

Another unusual feature is the absence of a conventional rear windscreen. Instead, the Jaguar Type 01 uses digital rear-view cameras. This allows the rear section to maintain its clean, futuristic design while providing the driver with a digital view behind the car.

The doors also feature the brass finish seen on the central spine, along with Jaguar’s iconic ‘leaper’ logo. Jaguar says the interior draws inspiration from travertine stone and artisan textile textures, creating what the company describes as a more sensory cabin experience.

Over 1,000hp and 700km Range

The Type 01 will be based on Jaguar’s new Jaguar Electric Architecture (JEA). The electric GT is expected to feature three electric motors producing more than 1,000hp, while its claimed range will exceed 700km. The Type 01 is expected to reach international markets in the first half of 2027 and will compete with other high-performance electric GTs.

Jaguar Type 01 Rivals

The upcoming electric GT is expected to compete with models such as the Ferrari Luce, Audi e-tron GT, Porsche Taycan and Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe. Jaguar will reveal the production-spec Type 01 in New York on October 6, 2026, when more details about its powertrain, performance and technology are expected to be announced.
