Fully electric SUV- the eVX will launch in early 2025 It will also be showcased in 2025 Bharat Mobility Show Expected to get two battery packs
Maruti Suzuki has been developing its fully Electric Car, the eVX. Its concept version was first showcased in the 2023 Auto Expo while its closer-to-production model will be revealed in the upcoming 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo. It is also confirmed that the eVX will first make its arrival in the European market, followed by an India launch in early 2025.
Design-wise, the new eVX is likely to feature split LED headlamps, C-pillar-mounted rear door handles, and large alloy wheels. In terms of features, the mid-size electric SUV is expected to offer a floating centre console, electrically adjustable front seats, a two-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel, a rotary dial for the drive modes, and a 360-degree camera.
Maruti has not confirmed the battery details and range for the upcoming eVX. However, it is expected to get two battery pack choices - a 48kWh and a 60kWh battery unit with a single electric motor, sending power to the front wheels. The EV is likely to offer a claimed range of 400 km and 500 km, respectively, on a single charge.
The electric SUV will be manufactured at Suzuki’s manufacturing plant in Sanand, Gujarat. It will be based on the new skateboard platform, developed by Suzuki and Toyota.
Maruti Suzuki eVX is expected to be priced between Rs 20-25 lakh (ex-showroom). Upon launch, it will rival the Tata Curvv EV, BYD Atto 3, and the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV.
