Mercedes-Benz will be launching its Maybach GLS 600 in India on May 22. Unlike the regular GLS, the Maybach is a luxury variant of the SUV. The GLS 600 was refreshed overseas last year and here is everything that has changed:

GLS 600’s overall silhouette is expected to remain the same with subtle updates on the outside. Vertical chrome bits on the front grille have been enlarged and the bumper revamped. Even the air inlets get Maybach logo motifs all around. LED headlights and tail lights are renewed and the car also gets all-new alloys which are 22-inchers, enhancing the hype-beast look.

Globally, the GLS is sold in two and three-seat configurations but it remains to be seen what the luxury car brand has in store for India. Inside is a similar story of mild updates, most confined to the steering wheel. Ambient lighting, rear infotainment screens and a 12.3-inch MBUX infotainment system paired with a 27-speaker setup are some of the other noteworthy features.
Under the hood does duty a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 block coupled with a mild-hybrid system. Power and torque at 549 bhp and 730 Nm get a further electric boost of 22 bhp and 250 Nm, respectively, with the hybrid technology on board. Mercedes offers the all-wheel drive GLS 600 with a nine-speed automatic gearbox.
