Mahindra is preparing to launch the new-gen Bolero very soon. The Bolero has been a strong and reliable SUV for many years, especially popular in smaller towns and villages. Now, the next-generation model will come with a fresh design and new features while keeping its tough and practical nature.
Recent test models on the road give us a good idea of what to expect from this updated SUV.

Based on recent test sightings, the new Bolero will feature a fresh front design with round projector-style headlights and Mahindra’s signature grille with vertical slats. The front bumper appears more muscular and houses LED daytime running lights along with a wide air intake. This front-end design feels inspired by the Mahindra Thar and Scorpio-N.
Even though the SUV gets major design updates, it keeps the traditional boxy silhouette that has defined the Bolero for decades. Expect chunky wheel arches, side steps, and body cladding that give it a tough look. The SUV also retains its side-hinged rear door with a spare wheel mounted on it. New alloy wheels and flush door handles are also part of the exterior changes.
At the rear, the updated Bolero is likely to come with a redesigned tail-light setup, a roof-mounted spoiler with integrated stop lamp, and additional reflectors on the bumper.
Inside, the 2025 Bolero is expected to offer a major upgrade. A completely new dashboard layout, updated center console, and a digital instrument cluster are likely.
Sources suggest that top variants might get ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) features, similar to what we’ve seen on the XUV 3XO. If confirmed, this would make the Bolero one of the most advanced vehicles in its segment.
The new Bolero is expected to be built on Mahindra’s New Flexible Architecture (NFA), which supports multiple powertrains. This platform promises better ride comfort, more safety features, and improved performance compared to the outgoing model.
Although Mahindra has not revealed engine details yet, the next-gen Bolero could borrow the 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine from the XUV 3XO, or continue with the Bolero Neo’s 1.5-litre diesel unit. The possibility of a petrol variant is also being speculated, which would be a first for the Bolero line-up.
Mahindra is likely to sell the new Bolero alongside the current model. This strategy will allow the brand to cater to both rural and urban buyers.
If all goes according to plan, the all-new Mahindra Bolero could debut on August 15, 2025. With updated tech, modern styling, and a familiar yet refreshed identity, the next-gen Bolero is shaping up to be a major launch for Mahindra this year.
