Mahindra XUV700 (XUV 7XO) Major Front-End Design Changes - SPIED

Mahindra is currently working on an updated version of the XUV700 SUV, which has been seen testing for the first time in India.

A video from TamilMotors360 shows the first test mule of the Mahindra XUV700 facelift. The SUV is fully camouflaged, but a few changes are visible. These are early-stage test models, so the overall design remains close to the current version.

Front Design Changes

The facelift will bring noticeable updates at the front:

- New grille with slanted vertical slats

- Possible changes to the lower grille

- No visible fog lights (might be removed or under camouflage)

- Round headlights, which appear to be temporary parts from the Thar Roxx

The final headlights are likely to be different in the production version.

Side and Rear Look Unchanged

The side profile, alloy wheels, and tail lights look similar to the current XUV700. These elements might be updated in future test mules or remain unchanged to limit redesign costs.

Possible New Features

Mahindra may add more features in the facelift/XUV7XO:

- Ventilated seats (front and rear)

- Triple screen dashboard setup (like XUV.e9)

- Rear ottoman seats

- Digital key and self-parking feature

- Upgraded Harman audio with Dolby support

- Auto-dimming IRVM

Engine Options Likely to Stay Same

Mahindra is expected to continue with the current powertrains:

2.0L Turbo Petrol – 197 bhp, 380 Nm

2.2L Turbo Diesel – Up to 182 bhp, 450 Nm

6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox options

There are ongoing developments for hybrid powertrains, but these may not be included in the facelift.

Launch Timeline

Mahindra launched the current XUV700 in August 2021. Since then, the SUV has remained unchanged. The updated version is expected to arrive in 2026, not 2025. Mahindra may also rename it to XUV7XO as part of its new naming strategy.
