Maruti Suzuki recently launched its fourth-generation Swift with a host of upgrades to its exterior, interior and powertrain. Though it misses out on the mild hybrid tech available overseas, the Japanese carmaker claims a fuel efficiency of up to 25.75 kilometres per litre. The Swift will be sold exclusively via the Arena outlets and prices start at Rs. 6.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
Smoked sweptback headlights with boomerang LED DRLs, a new grille at the front and a smaller bonnet front line are a noticeable few changes. On the side, the dual-tone alloys measure 16 inches and get a machined finish. The door handle gets a conventional position like the first and second generations.
The taillights pair are accentuated with C-shaped LED DRLs and continue with the smoked treatment. Four reverse parking sensors are placed on the bumper while the reversing camera is housed under the Suzuki logo on the boot.
If you are familiar with Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Fronx’s interior then you would feel at home upon stepping inside the new Swift. It does look and feel more premium than the outgoing model. Major highlights here fall in the safety department as six airbags and three-point seatbelts have been made standard across its six variants. Other features that you may like:
- Ambient lighting
- Cruise control
- ABS
- Cruise control
- Rear AC vents
- Hill Hold Assist
- 9-inch infotainment system
- Suzuki Connect
- Rear Type A & C USB ports
- LED fog lamps

An all-new K-Series engine has made its debut with the 2024 Swift and has impressive mileage to offer. It is a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder block churning out 80.4 hp and 111.7 Nm of torque, respectively. Notably, Maruti has omitted its mild-hybrid system in the Swift. Power and torque figures have gone down but the same is inversely proportional when it comes to mileage. The manual gearbox returns 24.8 kmpl and the AMT 25.75 kmpl, translating to around a 3 kmpl bump in the mileage.
