Maruti Suzuki Swift - Everything You Need To Know

It’s been over two years since the third-gen Maruti Suzuki Swift received the facelifted update, but still, it’s setting the sales chart on fire, with an average sales of over 15,000 units per month. If you plan to buy the Maruti Suzuki Swift, here’s a comprehensive guide with everything you need to know about this hatchback.

Maruti SuzukI Swift: Dynamic Design

Maruti Suzuki Swift design

The Maruti Suzuki Swift is known for its sleek & sporty design, with smooth body lines and a trapezoidal mesh-pattern grille upfront. Its dynamic proportions, nicely-crafted body elements and raised rumps give it a bold and sporty appeal and make it stand out on the road. Plus, the dual-tone paint options with its range-topping ZXI+ trim further enhance its energetic charisma.

Maruti Suzuki Swift: Interior and Features

Maruti Suzuki Swift Interior

The sporty vibe continues inside the cabin as well. The 2023 Swift features an upright dash wrapped in an all-black theme. However, there’s a dark grey finish on the dash's centre layer and the steering's bottom for a contrasting appeal. It uses hard plastic all over, giving you a reason to complain.
When it comes to features, Swift is decently loaded. Key highlights include: -
?    Automatic LED projector headlamps with LED DRLs
?    Fog lamps
?    15-inch alloy wheels
?    Keyless entry with push button start/stop
?    Auto AC
?    Analogue instrument cluster with coloured multi-info display (MID)
?    7-inch SMARTPLAY touchscreen infotainment with 6-speakers
?    Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
?    Height-adjustable driver’s seat
?    Steering-mounted audio & telephony controls
?    Cruise control
?    Powered side mirrors with integrated turn indicators
?    Rear defogger
?    Rear wiper & washer
?    Day/night IRVM
?    Dual front airbags
?    ABS with EBD
?    Rear parking sensors with a camera
?    Hill hold assist
?    ISOFIX child seat anchors
?    Electronic stability program
Compared to the competition and market demands, it misses rear AC vents, front & rear armrests, a wireless charger, wireless smartphone integration support, and an electrochromic rear-view mirror.

Maruti SuzukI Swift: Space, Comfort and Practicality

Maruti Suzuki Swift space

This is another area where the Maruti Suzuki Swift is smashing. There’s nothing to complain about the ergonomic department. Everything feels spot on. Its fabric seats are well cushioned and provide a great hold. And thanks to the height-adjustment functionality, finding a comfortable driving position is easy.
The rear bench also offers generous head & knee room for occupants taller than 6 ft. It is wide enough to accommodate two adults and one child easily. However, the overall experience could have been further improved if rear AC vents, rear charging ports, and a rear centre armrest were also provided.
When it comes to practicality, the Swift will impress you once again. There are abundant storage spaces across the cabin, including a decently sized glovebox, bottle holders in all doors, seat back pockets, and central cubbies for small items. Additionally, it gets 268 litres of decent boot space, and the 60 40 split rear seats can further extend its luggage capacity when required.

Maruti Suzuki Swift: Peppy Performance

Maruti Suzuki Swift performance

Propulsion duties on the Maruti Suzuki Swift are handled by the 1.2-litre K-series petrol engine that uses the brand’s DualJet DualVVT technology that not only sweetens its performance but also reduces emissions, improves fuel efficiency, smoothens operations and enhances the durability & longevity of the engine. It gets a 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearbox options.
The all-new Swift produces a maximum output of 82 bhp and 113 Nm, generous enough for both urban commutes and highway driving. With its highly responsive engine and Swift’s lightweight construction (weighing as low as 905 kg), the hatch provides an energetic and spirited performance. Furthermore, its butter-smooth operations, with no vibrations and unpleasant noises, will make you fall in love with this car.
Maruti Suzuki also offers the Swift with an optional factory-fitted CNG kit, with a slightly lower performance output of 76 bhp and 98.5 Nm. It only comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Maruti Suzuki Swift: Impressive Fuel Efficiency

The new Swift benefits from the brand’s idle start/stop technology that assists in providing optimum fuel efficiency. As per the carmaker, it can return an ARAI-claimed fuel efficiency of 23.20 km/l with its manual and 23.76 km/l with its AMT version. On the other hand, the Swift CNG claims a mileage of 30.90 km/kg.

Maruti Suzuki Swift: Ride and Handling

Maruti Suzuki Swift Drift

The Maruti Swift has always been known for its excellent handling performance, and the facelifted version maintains that handling prowess. The firm suspensions work in its favour handling the corners very effectively, even at high speeds. It also provides excellent stability at triple-digit cruising, making it feel dependable on the road. However, its steering wheel lacks feedback. And also, because of the suspension firmness, you will feel the surface imperfections inside the cabin.
