Nissan Motor India aims to strengthen its presence in the Indian automobile market with new SUV launches. In October 2022, the company showcased its most popular international SUV models, the Qashqai, X-Trail, and Juke in India. As stated by Nissan, the X-Trail SUV would be the first model to be launched in the country while the other two SUVs, Qashqai and Juke are expected to be introduced sometime later this year.
Learn more about these upcoming Nissan SUVs that are yet to be launched in India:
Nissan X-Trail is a premium SUV which is available in both 5 and 7-seat options. Based on the Common Module Family (CMF) platform, the Fourth-Generation X-Trail is expected to be launched by July 2023. For the Indian-specific model, the SUV will be offered with two powertrain options; a 1.5-litre turbo petrol mated with mild hybrid tech (162 bhp/300 Nm) and a strong-hybrid self-charging engine which will produce 201 bhp for the two wheel drive version and 210 bhp for four-wheel-drive. As for the price, we expect it to be in the range of Rs 30 lakhs to Rs 40 lakhs (ex-showroom).
Nissan Qashqai is yet another popular product currently being sold in the international market.
This compact SUV could be introduced sometime towards the end of this year. The Third-Generation Qashqai would feature a 1.3-litre petrol with mild hybrid (187 bhp/250 Nm) and a e-Power hybrid option (187 bhp/330 Nm). It is expected that the four-wheeler could come equipped with ADAS features including Lane Departure Warning and Blind Spot Detection. The starting price of the upcoming Nissan Qashqai could stand at around Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom) in India.
The Japanese automaker is said to be bringing in its Second-Generation Juke SUV to the Indian market by next year. The subcompact SUV will gauge the interest of many because of its funky design. It will be powered by a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol strong hybrid engine which would be capable of producing 92 bhp from the engine and 47 bhp from the motor resulting in a combined power output of 139 bhp. The company is believed to offer multiple airbags and other safety features on this model. Besides, the expected price for the upcoming Nissan Juke SUV might fall in the range of Rs 10 lakh to Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom).
