Let us know more about these upcoming SUVs from Toyota:
Toyota recently introduced the 2023 Innova Crysta with a starting price of Rs 19 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings for this model opened this year in January with a token amount of Rs 50,000 and the deliveries are expected to start from the end of April 2023. The Innova Crysta will be offered with only a 2.4-litre diesel engine, mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Besides, the model will be available in four trims; G, GX, VX, and ZX. All trims will get either seven or eight-seat layouts, except the top-spec (ZX) variant.
Another upcoming car from Toyota is a coupe SUV, codenamed A15. This model will be based on the Maruti Suzuki FRONX that was showcased at the Delhi Auto Expo 2023. Besides, the upcoming Toyota SUV will be offered with two petrol engine options; a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder Boosterjet turbo (99 bhp and 148 Nm) and a 1.2-litre Dualjet 4-cylinder petrol unit (89 bhp and 113 Nm). The former power plant will be available with a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission while the latter will get a 5-speed manual as standard and a 5-speed AMT as an option. The Japanese automaker is likely to launch this model at the end of this year in the price range of Rs 6.5 lakh to Rs 9.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
The New-Generation Toyota Fortuner will most likely make its world premiere towards the end of this year or early 2024. This full-size SUV will get a brand-new design and a new engine option. It will be based on Toyota's latest TNGA-F architecture. In addition, the upcoming Fortuner will receive a new 1GD-FTV diesel engine of 2.8-litre with a mild hybrid system and an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG). The new hybrid powertrain will make the SUV more fuel efficient than before. As far as the price is concerned, Toyota might hike the price by Rs 2 to 3 lakh in comparison to the price of the outgoing model.
Another SUV that Toyota is planning to introduce in India is the Corolla Cross. It will be launched by early 2024. According to the media reports, the new Corolla Cross is expected to be a 3-row SUV with a 7-seat layout. It will share the same platform as the Innova Hycross which is the TNGA GA-C platform. Besides that, the upcoming vehicle will receive updates like a new grille, bumper, and improved headlights. Furthermore, the four-wheeler will be offered with the same set of powertrain options as the Innova Hycross. This includes a 2.0-litre petrol and a 2.0-litre strong hybrid engine options. Remember, there will be no diesel powertrain options for the upcoming Corolla Cross.
