It is no secret that Mahindra is testing a wide range of electric SUVs including the XUV.e8, XUV.e9 and BE.05. All these electric SUVs will be launched in our market before the end of 2025. In fact, the Mahindra BE.05 could be the first Born-electric SUV from the domestic manufacturer. The company has also started testing the BE Rall-E, a sporty version of the BE.05 on the Indian roads.
For people not in the know, Mahindra had showcased the BE Rall-E concept at the Mahindra EV Fashion Festival in Hyderabad last year. The prototype of this electric SUV was caught testing in Chitradurga, Karnataka. Not just this Rall-E model, the Mahindra XUV.e9 electric SUV Coupe and the XUV.e8 3-row SUV were also the part of the convoy.
It is expected that the Mahindra BE Rall-E concept based sporty electric SUV will also enter the production-line. The spotted model looks similar to the original concept; however, the production-spec model will have some design changes to make it road legal. Based on the standard BE.05, the Mahindra Rall-E will be the crossover version of the Coupe SUV.
The Mahindra Rall-E will be a sportier version of the BE.05. It will come with shorter, and more aggressive front and rear bumpers along with prominent wheel arches and a roof carrier. The Rall-E sporty crossover will come equipped with chunkier tyres. Moreover, the crossover could be offered in limited numbers along with funky colour options.
The Mahindra Rall-E will be designed and developed on the Born-electric skateboard platform, called INGLO. Based on the 2,775mm long wheelbase, the new BE Rall-E rugged electric SUV will measure over 4.3 metres in length. The dashboard layout will be similar to the BE.05, featuring connected screen for infotainment and digital driver's display.
The electric crossover is likely to be offered with a battery pack of around 60kWh with a certified range of up to 500km on a single charge. The BE Rall-E will come as a rugged version of the BE.05. It is expected to be offered with an AWD setup with dual electric motors.
