Mahindra Global Pik Up - New Teasers Reveal Key Details

Mahindra has released new teasers of the production-spec Global Pik Up, giving us a closer look at its exterior and interior ahead of its global debut on August 14, 2026. The upcoming lifestyle pickup is based on the Scorpio N and has been in development for international markets for nearly three years.

The production version appears to stay close to the original concept showcased in South Africa in 2023, while adding several design and cabin changes for the production model.

Mahindra Global Pik Up: Exterior Design

The latest teasers reveal a muscular pickup with several design cues shared with the Scorpio N. At the front, it gets a wide grille with Mahindra’s twin-peak logo, slim LED daytime running lights and vertically stacked lighting elements.

The side profile confirms a double-cab body style with a long cargo bed, prominent wheel arches, roof rails and large alloy wheels. The pickup also gets a relatively long wheelbase, giving it the proportions expected from a modern lifestyle truck.

At the rear, the Global Pik Up features C-shaped vertical tail lamps, a large tailgate and prominent Mahindra lettering. A horizontal light element below the rear glass adds another distinctive design element. Mahindra had originally showcased the Global Pik Up concept in Cape Town in 2023 as part of its plans to expand into international lifestyle pickup markets.

Interior Gets a Major Update

The latest teaser also provides a detailed look at the cabin. Unlike the Scorpio N, the Global Pik Up gets a substantially revised dashboard. The biggest highlight is a large vertically oriented touchscreen infotainment system mounted in the centre of the dashboard. It is flanked by chunky vertical air vents and metallic-look trim.

The cabin also features a digital instrument cluster and three-spoke multifunction steering wheel with Mahindra’s twin-peak logo. The centre console gets a conventional automatic-style gear selector, rotary control and several physical buttons. Earlier images had also revealed button-based HVAC controls and brown leatherette upholstery.

Engine and 4WD

Mahindra has not yet revealed the complete technical specifications of the production model.

However, the Global Pik Up is expected to share its powertrain options with the Scorpio N. This could include the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines, paired with six-speed manual and automatic gearboxes. A four-wheel-drive system is also expected.

When Mahindra showcased the concept in 2023, it featured the 2.2-litre diesel engine, six-speed automatic transmission and the company’s 4Xplore four-wheel-drive system. The final engine specifications, performance figures and drivetrain details will be confirmed at the global debut.

Global Pik Up Rivals

The Mahindra Global Pik Up will enter the lifestyle pickup segment and is expected to compete with established models such as the Toyota Hilux and Isuzu V-Cross.

Mahindra is positioning the new pickup as a lifestyle product rather than a conventional workhorse. The company’s original Global Pik Up strategy was aimed at strengthening its presence in markets including South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Africa, MENA, South and Central America and ASEAN.
