Maruti Suzuki is working on its new premium MPV, Engage which is a rebadged version of the Toyota Innova Hycross. The new MPV is all set to make its debut in July featuring a new front-end design. Before it arrives in the Indian market, images online have given us a sneak peek of the front grille design.
Here are a few design details of the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Engage MPV:
Based on the leaked images, the Engage MPV will feature two chrome bars on the top half of the grille along with a Suzuki logo in the centre. The new grille will feature the Nexa wave styling keeping in theme with other premium models from the company.
While the overall silhouette is the same as the Innova Hycross, the new model will get a redesigned LED headlamp with a signature arrow-shaped LED DRL. Besides, the overall design of the front bumper seems to be flatter than that of the Innova Hycross for a complete SUV-esque stance.
The leaked images from the Bidadi plant also reveal that the Maruti MPV could also be offered with the same colour options as the Innova Hycross.
Since the new Maruti MPV will be sourced from Toyota, it is expected to share the same powertrain and transmission options as Innova Hycross. The Engage MPV will carry a 2.0-litre petrol engine, producing 174 bhp and 197 Nm of torque. The MPV could also get a strong-hybrid option, pairing the 2.0-litre petrol mill with an electric motor. Its combined power output will be 186 bhp with 167 Nm. Transmission options will include a CVT or an e-CVT automatic.
The automaker has revealed that the new Engage MPV will make its debut on 5th July 2023 and will be retailed through the NEXA premium outlets. As for the pricing, the MPV could be priced in the range of Rs 18.55 lakh (ex-showroom) to Rs 29.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
