British luxury car manufacturer McLaren has officially marked its entry into the Indian market. The company recently inaugurated its debut and exclusive dealership in Mumbai. The interesting fact is some of its models already arrived in India as private imports and the authorised dealer (Infinity Cars) through a launch a year ago. Moreover, McLaren has now opened a dedicated service centre in Mumbai which will be operated by trained engineers of McLaren.
Speaking at the showroom launch, the Chairman and the Managing Director, Lalit Chaudary said he is honoured to start this journey as McLaren Mumbai and claimed to deliver McLaren’s engineering excellence with the customer-centric proposition. Paul Harris, the Managing Director– APAC and China, McLaren added “Mumbai will be the key market for the brand”.
The British automaker will be offering its entire portfolio in India which includes the GT, Artura, 720S, 720 S Spider, 765LT, and the 765LT Spider.
McLaren 765LT Spider was one of the cars showcased by the company. It is the fastest convertible that has ever been produced, claimed by the company. McLaren focused on the Long Tail models. The 765LT Spider offers the same aerodynamic carbon fibre bodywork as the coupe version. It also includes a more aggressive front bumper and splitter, side skirts, lower door blades, and a wraparound rear bumper. Further, the model has a folding roof which opens and shuts in just 11 seconds.

Powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 engine, it produces 765bhp and 800 Nm of peak torque which sends power to the rear wheels through a 7-speed sequential gearbox. Additionally, it will be limited to 765 units. However, McLaren has not revealed its price in India.
