Indian auto giant Tata Motors has introduced a single-pane electric sunroof with the recently launched Altroz CNG. Now in a new announcement, the brand has extended the new feature to all of the hatchback’s powertrain options.
The Altroz becomes the second hatchback in India to get a sunroof. It also becomes the most affordable sunroof-equipped car in India, with prices starting from Rs 7.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Tata Altroz gets a sunroof from the XM+ mid-spec trim. In total, the feature is available in 16 variants across the petrol, turbo-petrol, diesel, and CNG powertrain options. In comparison to the regular models, the sunroof-equipped versions are around Rs 45,000 more expensive.

With the launch of the CNG model, the automaker also introduced wireless charging, leatherette upholstery and an air purifier on the Altroz. The features are now also available on all other powertrain options but only offered on the top-of-the-line XZ+(S) and XZ+O(S) trims only.
The Altroz now gets an even longer variant list with the addition of 13 new ones across petrol and diesel models.

Tata offers the Altroz with multiple powertrain choices. Petrol options include a 1.2-litre N/A motor making 87 bhp with 113 Nm of peak torque or a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol motor that pumps out 110 bhp and 140 Nm of max torque. The diesel engine is a 1.5-litre unit that is rated for 90 bhp and 200 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed DCT automatic (petrol only) gearbox.
The Altroz’s CNG variants are powered by a 1.2-litre engine that makes 73 bhp with 103 Nm of peak torque. It is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Prices for the Tata Altroz now range from Rs 6.60 lakh (ex-showroom) - Rs 10.74 lakh (ex-showroom). The premium hatchback competes against the likes of the Maruti Baleno, Hyundai i20 and Toyota Glanza.
