Toyota is all set to unveil its upcoming electric SUV, the Urban Cruiser EV, in January 2026, with a market launch expected by March 2026. This electric SUV is based on the Maruti e Vitara and is expected to offer an impressive range and features at a competitive price. Here’s everything you need to know about the Toyota Urban Cruiser EV.

The Urban Cruiser EV will come with two battery options - a 49kWh battery and a 61kWh battery. The larger battery will offer a range of up to 543km on a full charge. The smaller one will provide around 344km to 426km, depending on whether it’s front-wheel drive (FWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD). Some sources even suggest the Indian version may offer a range of over 500km in the future.
Toyota Urban Cruiser EV will have a design similar to the Maruti e Vitara, but with a few differences. The front will look smoother with thinner headlights and a chrome finish. The SUV will also have bigger 19-inch wheels and a stylish bumper.
It will be 4285mm long, 1800mm wide, and 1640mm high. The 2700mm wheelbase will give it enough space for passengers. The turning radius will be just 5.2 meters, which will make it easy to drive, even in tight spots.
Inside, the Toyota Urban Cruiser EV will have modern features like a 10.25-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There will also be a 10.1-inch digital display for the driver, a 360-degree camera for better parking, and Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) for added safety.
The cabin will be spacious and comfortable, perfect for long trips with plenty of legroom.
Toyota Urban Cruiser EV is expected to be priced between Rs 18 lakh and Rs 24 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete with other electric SUVs like the Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE 6, MG ZS EV, Tata Curvv EV, and the upcoming Tata Sierra EV.
