Toyota Hyryder 7-Seater SUV – Key Features, Launch Timeline & Rivals

The upcoming Toyota 7-seater SUV, a larger version of the Urban Cruiser Hyryder, has been spotted testing in Bengaluru. This new model will be Toyota’s version of the 7-seater Maruti Grand Vitara, which is also expected to launch later this year. Even though the test car was covered in camouflage, some important details could still be seen. Let's discuss!

Toyota Hyryder 7 Seater - What’s Spotted?
While most of the SUV remains under wraps, several design cues give away its three-row identity.
At the back, the SUV gets new, sleeker LED tail lights that look different from the ones on the regular 5-seater Hyryder. These lights look similar to those seen earlier on the 7-seater Grand Vitara test mule. The body also appears longer, hinting at extra space for a third row of seats. The alloy wheels also have a new design.
Despite the camouflage, several familiar features from the 5-seater Hyryder are evident, including:
- Roof rails
- Rear wiper
- Pull-type door handles
- Auto-dimming inside rearview mirror
Expected Interior and Feature Upgrades
Although the cabin wasn’t visible in the spied images, the 7-seater Hyryder is likely to get a more feature-rich interior compared to its 5-seater counterpart. Expected upgrades include:
- Larger touchscreen infotainment system
- Full-digital driver’s display
- 8-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat
- Multi-colour ambient lighting
- Ventilated front seats
- Wireless phone charger
- Heads-up display (HUD)
- Panoramic sunroof
Safety Features to Mirror the 5-Seater Model
The larger Hyryder is expected to borrow many of the safety upgrades from the recently updated 5-seater version. Standard features should include:
- Six airbags
- 360-degree camera
- Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
- Electronic parking brake
- Possibility of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)
Expected Pricing and Rivals
The 7-seater Toyota Hyryder will likely command a premium over the current 5-seater model, which is priced between Rs 11.34 lakh and Rs 19.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Upon launch, the new three-row SUV will take on popular rivals in the segment, including:

- Hyundai Alcazar
- Mahindra XUV700
- MG Hector Plus
- Upcoming Maruti Grand Vitara 7-seater
Launch Timeline
