Expected price: Rs 18-26 lakh (ex-showroom). Two battery options with up to 500 km range. Launch on January 20, 2026.
Toyota is preparing to launch its first electric SUV in India, and pricing will play a key role in its success. Ahead of the official reveal, here’s a clear, price-focused look at where Toyota’s first EV SUV is expected to be positioned.
Toyota Urban Cruiser EV launch is scheduled for January 20, 2026. Toyota is expected to announce full variant-wise pricing on the same day, giving buyers a clear picture of how competitively the SUV is priced.

Toyota Urban Cruiser EV price in India is expected to start at around Rs 18 lakh and go up to Rs 26 lakh (ex-showroom). The final price will depend on the variant and battery pack chosen.
Toyota is likely to price the Urban Cruiser EV slightly higher than the Maruti e Vitara. This premium is expected due to Toyota’s brand positioning, perceived reliability and stronger service network.
The base variant with a 49 kWh battery is expected to be priced between Rs 18 lakh and Rs 22.5 lakh. This version could attract buyers looking for an electric SUV with everyday usability at a relatively accessible price.
The top-end variant, likely to get a larger 61 kWh battery along with ADAS features, may be priced between Rs 24.5 lakh and Rs 26 lakh. This version will target buyers looking for long range and advanced safety tech.
With an expected price band of Rs 18-26 lakh, the Toyota Urban Cruiser EV will sit squarely in the middle of the midsize electric SUV segment.
At the lower end, its pricing will overlap with the Tata Curvv EV and MG ZS EV, which are positioned as more value-focused electric SUVs. Toyota, however, is expected to justify its pricing with brand trust and ownership experience.
The Urban Cruiser EV is also likely to be closely priced to the Hyundai Creta Electric. While the Creta Electric tops out at around Rs 24.7 lakh, Toyota’s higher variants could stretch further due to the larger battery and ADAS.
Compared to the Mahindra BE 6, which reaches close to Rs 28 lakh, Toyota’s EV is expected to feel more accessible while still offering competitive range and features.
Against the Maruti e Vitara, the Urban Cruiser EV is expected to command a small premium of around Rs 1-2 lakh, reflecting Toyota-specific styling and tuning.
At its expected price point, buyers can look forward to a modern cabin with a clean dashboard layout. The Toyota Urban Cruiser EV interior is expected to feel familiar yet more refined, with subtle changes over its Maruti sibling.
Toyota is also claiming a driving range of up to 500 km on a single charge.
This places the Toyota Urban Cruiser EV range among the strongest in the segment and adds value, especially in higher-priced variants.
