In a bid to improve sales, Volkswagen has launched the Taigun GT Line and GT Plus Sport trims in the Indian market. While the GT Line variant is priced at Rs 14.08 lakh, the Taigun GT Plus Sport is available at a starting price of Rs 18.53 lakh (ex-showroom).
VW Taigun GT Line MT - Rs 14.08 Lakh
VW Taigun GT Line AT - Rs 15.63 Lakh
VW Taigun GT Plus Sport MT - Rs 18.54 Lakh
VW Taigun GT Plus Sport AT - 19.74 Lakh
These black-themed special editions are positioned under the 'Sport' trim level. The GT Plus variant comes with a carbon steel grey roof with red 'GT' badging on the tailgate, front grille and fender. Instead of the carbon steel grey roof & red GT badging, the GT Line variant gets these additions in black finish. The new Taigun GT Line and GT Plus Sport variants ride on 17-inch 'Cassino' blacked-out alloy wheels. The GT Plus variant comes with red callipers in the front.
Inside the cabin, the new variants come with black leatherette upholstery. The GT Plus variant also comes with contrasting red stitching, while the GT Line has grey stitching. The top-spec Taigun GT Plus comes equipped with red GT logos and aluminium pedals. VW is also offering an introductory offer of a complimentary four-year Service Value Package (SVP).
The Volkswagen Taigun Sport GT Line variant is powered by a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder TSI petrol engine that churns out a maximum power output of 114bhp and a peak torque of 178Nm. The GT Plus is equipped with a 1.5-litre TSI Petrol engine that produces 148bhp and 250Nm of torque. A six-speed manual gearbox is offered as standard. While the GT Line variant is equipped with a six-speed torque convertor automatic, the GT Plus comes with a seven-speed twin-clutch DSG.
