Next-Generation Tucson has been unveiled in India; Market launch set for 4th of August 2022; Gets many segment-first features
Post its official reveal, the 4th Gen Tucson has garnered a lot of attention owing to the long list of modern features and excellent powertrain options. While we await the official price reveal sometime later in the year, the Citroen C5 Aircross and Jeep Compass alternative has a lot going for it and here are ‘Top 5 Things To Know’ about the New Tucson.
At the moment, the company had only previewed the car to the media. Official launch date is set for the 4th of August 2022, where the automaker will reveal the prices and also start accepting bookings for the C-SUV.
Tucson has been well known for offering more than enough equipment compared to its competition. And the story continues with the new model which comes loaded with features like Home-to-Car (H2C) with Alexa and Google voice assistance in Hindi and English, remote engine start with smart key and multi air mode door pocket lighting. In addition to this the four-wheeler also gets a 10.25-inch navigation unit along with passenger seat walk-in device among others.
Key highlight feature on the 4th generation Tucson is the inclusion of Hyundai Smart Sense Technology. This Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) comes with 19 features such as forward collision warning, forward Collision-Avoidance Assist for car, pedestrian and cycle, lane departure warning, driver attention warning, safe exit warning and more.
The new Tucson comes with two engine options. First is a 2.0-litre petrol engine that produces 156bhp and 192Nm of peak torque. The other is a 2.0-litre turbo diesel unit capable of producing a max power output of 186bhp and peak torque of 416 Nm. Both these engines come mated to a torque converter automatic gearbox, 6-speed in case of the petrol and 8-speed in case of the diesel.
Despite getting sleeker lines and a more sporty design language, the new Tucson has grown in size. The four-wheeler now measures 4630mm in length , 1865mm in width and 1665mm in height. Along with this, the new premium SUV also sports the longest wheelbase of 2755mm in its segment.
The vehicle now features Hyundai’s HTRAC All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) system with multi-terrain modes, namely Snow, Mud and Sand. This will assist the SUV get through some tricky terrains by ensuring optimum torque is delivered to the front and rear wheels as per requirements.
