BYD India has finally launched the Sealion 7 SUV and announced its prices. It is BYD's fourth car in India after the eMAX 7, Atto 3, and Seal. The Sealion 7 comes in two trims: Premium and Performance. The Premium is priced at Rs. 48.90 lakh (ex-showroom), whereas the Performance is priced at Rs. 54.90 lakh. Deliveries will start on March 7, 2025. Both models are available with the similar features and batteries, with the only difference being the drivetrain configurations.

The BYD Sealion 7 is equipped with an 82.56 kWh BYD Blade Battery, with a range of 567 km for the Premium model and 542 km for the Performance model. The Premium model accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds, while the Performance model achieves this in 4.5 seconds. Premium produces 308.43 bhp of power and 380 Nm of torque, but the Performance generates 522.99 bhp of power and 690 Nm of torque with increased power and speed.

The BYD Sealion 7 is 4,830 mm long overall, 1,925 mm wide overall, and 1,620 mm high overall. The front and rear wheel tracks are both 1,660 mm, and the wheelbase is 2,930 mm. It has a minimum turning radius of 5.85 meters, making it relatively easy to maneuver. The front trunk provides a 58-litres capacity, and the rear trunk offers a roomy 500 litres of space, guaranteeing plenty of room for luggage or other items.

Both the Premium and Performance versions of the BYD Sealion 7 have a comparable set of features. Although both trims have many of the same attributes, it should be mentioned that the front coloured brake calipers are only available on the Performance trim.
Let's take a closer look at the shared features offered in both the Premium and Performance trims, such as an 82.56 kWh BYD Blade Battery, strong electric range, quick acceleration, and sophisticated safety features. Regardless of the variations in power and performance, both trims offer a similarly high degree of comfort, technology, and design.
In conclusion, the BYD Sealion 7 is a good option if you are looking for an electric SUV that comes well-loaded. If you wish to have an affordable variant with a longer range, the Premium variant at Rs. 48.90 lakh is a suitable choice. However, if you wish to have more power and quicker acceleration, the Performance variant at Rs. 54.90 lakh would be more suitable for you. Both versions have nifty features such as a large touchscreen, wireless phone connectivity, and loads of safety technology. It's therefore up to you if you'd like more performance or greater value for money, but either way the Sealion 7 provides an excellent electric SUV.
