In the first half of this year, we have witnessed several new car launches in the Indian market. A lot of new cars and SUVs will be introduced in our market over the period of next 1-2 years. While Maruti Suzuki will introduce the updated Fronx, the Kia Carens will receive its first major facelift. In this article, we talk about the top cars and SUVs which are due to get facelifts in the next 1-2 years.

Maruti Suzuki will launch the Fronx facelift in the country in 2025. The updated model will majorly receive mechanical updates along with few cosmetic design and interior upgrades. The biggest update will come in the form of a new in-house developed hybrid petrol engine. It is likely to be powered by a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder series hybrid petrol engine.
The petrol engine will work as a generator to charge the battery pack, while the propulsion of the vehicle will be done by an electric motor. The Fronx hybrid is expected to offer a fuel efficiency of around 30-35kmpl. Besides this, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx facelift could receive an electric sunroof and a more feature-loaded cabin.

Tata Motors will launch the Punch facelift in the country in 2025. It is likely to share the features and design updates from Punch.ev. Going by the spy images available on the Internet, it is visible that the small SUV will have the same split headlamps, bumper and bonnet lines as the Punch EV. The cabin will receive big changes in the form of a bigger touchscreen and a fully digital instrument console, and will be in-sync with the new Nexon EV. The small SUV is likely to be powered by a 1.2L 3-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine that produces 85hp and 113Nm. It will be paired to either a 5-speed manual or an AMT unit.

The next model in our list of upcoming facelift cars is the new Hyundai Alcazar facelift that has been spotted testing multiple times on the Indian roads. The SUV will receive cosmetic design changes, and will get a larger grille with horizontal slats. It will have differently-styled LED DRLs with a new 'H' element.
The SUV is likely to receive a new dashboard layout, which will be in-sync with the Creta facelift. It will have a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment and a 10.25-inch digital instrument console. This 7-seater SUV will also receive ADAS tech with features like adaptive cruise control, lane assist, autonomous emergency braking and others. The engine options will include a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre turbo diesel.

The Korean automaker is working on the facelifted version of the Carens MPV that has been spotted testing on the Indian roads. Not just ICE, this model will also receive an electric derivative. The Kia Carens facelift is scheduled to make its debut in the Indian market in early 2025.
This 3-row MPV will receive design changes and an upgraded interior. The MPV is likely to receive some high-end features including Level 2 ADAS suite, 360-degree surround view camera, electrically adjustable driver's seat, ventilated front seats and others. It will retain the existing engine line-up including a 1.5L NA petrol, a 1.5L turbo petrol and a 1.5L turbo diesel.

Nissan will introduce the Nissan Magnite facelift in the country in the late 2024 or early 2025. The new model will receive subtle design changes and an upgraded interior. On the exterior, the SUV is likely to get new bumpers, new headlamps with new LED signatures, and a revised grille. The cabin will retain the original design; however, Nissan could add more premium features to keep things fresh. The SUV is likely to retain the existing set of engines including a 1.0L 3-cylinder NA petrol and a turbo petrol. While the former is good for 72bhp and 96Nm of torque, the turbo unit produces 99hp and 160Nm. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual and an AMT unit.

The Korean automaker will introduce the Hyundai Tucson facelift in the country in the next 1 year. The updated model has already been launched in the select international markets. It comes with new bumpers with new skid plates, larger DRLs and a slightly revised grille. The SUV will receive redesigned alloy wheels. The cabin will also receive design upgrades and new features. It will have a new dashboard layout that houses the connected screens for the infotainment and instrument console. The SUV is likely to retain the engine options including a 154bhp 2.0L turbo petrol and a 184bhp, 2.0L turbo diesel.
