Force Motors launched the much-awaited 2024 Gurkha three and five-door SUVs on Thursday. Compared to the outgoing car, the three-door Gurkha comes at a premium of Rs. 1.66 lakh at Rs. 16.75 lakh, while the five-door model will be available for Rs. 18 lakh ex-showroom.
Force Motors has retained the boxy silhouette of the ladder frame-based SUV with minor updates on the outside. A pair of LED projectors with daytime running lights (DRLs) are new. The SUV also sports a new set of 18-inch alloy wheels with a 10-spoke design. The siblings stretch 3,965 mm and 4,390 mm, respectively. Wheelbase of the five-door Gurkha is 2,825 mm, 425 mm longer than the five-door.
Major updates received by the interior include a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system and an advanced digital instrument cluster. There’s also a segment-first electric shift-on-fly knob for offroading. Dual airbags, ABS and EBD come courtesy of the safety package. Smaller Gurkha has a 3+Driver seating configuration and the elder five-door boasts a 6+Driver seating type.
Both the SUVs share a 2.6-litre common rail diesel engine producing 138 bhp and 320 Nm of torque paired with a manual transmission. Deliveries are set to begin around the second half of May.
