Isuzu India has launched two new trims of its D-Max V-Cross ‘Prestige’ line today. With the V-Cross, the Japanese carmaker aims to address the increasing demand for lifestyle pickup trucks. There’s also a new Hi-lander version up for grabs. Besides cosmetic upgrades, read along for technical advancements and upgrades.
On the V-Cross’ outside, a dual-tone bumper guard, matt black alloy wheels, roof rails and rear bumper finished in dark grey are new. Even the fog lamp and engine hood garnishes have been greyed out. Further, there’s a passive entry and start system (PESS) and a parking sensor and camera at the back.
Driving takes the front seat with features like a shift-on-the-fly 4WD system, hill descent control, electronic stability control (ESC) and traction control system (TCS) as standard across models. Infotainment is taken care of by a 9-inch touchscreen unit that comes with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Seats at the back have been redesigned for a comfortable seating posture, Isuzu said.
"We are proud to have set the benchmark in presenting India with its first-ever lifestyle adventure utility vehicle and our passenger vehicles range of pick-ups have been consistently well-received since launch. The trucks remain mechanically unchanged with the same 1.9-litre common rail diesel mill producing 163 horsepower and 360 newton metres mated to either a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. Prestige line is also equipped with a four-wheel drive-type system.
Bookings are open with prices for the pickup truck being Rs 25.71 lakh (V-Cross Z) and Rs 26.91 lakh (V-Cross Z Prestige), respectively, while the Hi-lander costs Rs 21.19 lakh ex-showroom Chennai. Deliveries will commence in a few days.
