Skoda Slavia facelift will launch in India on August 18. New 8-speed automatic gearbox is expected for the 1.0 TSI engine. Sedan will also get updated styling and more features.
Skoda is all set to launch the updated Slavia in India on August 18. The mid-size sedan is expected to receive a fresh look, a few new features and an important mechanical update, while continuing with its existing turbo-petrol engine options.
The facelift is expected to help the Slavia stay competitive against rivals such as the Volkswagen Virtus, Hyundai Verna and Honda City.
The Slavia facelift is expected to receive a number of design updates. Spy shots suggest it will get revised LED headlamps with updated lighting elements, a redesigned grille with integrated lighting, similar to the latest Kushaq and Kodiaq, and refreshed front and rear bumpers.
At the back, the sedan is likely to feature updated LED tail-lamps, while a new design for the alloy wheels is also expected.

Inside, the overall dashboard layout is expected to remain familiar, but Skoda could introduce a few new additions.
The Slavia facelift is likely to get a 10.25-inch digital driver's display, updated seat upholstery and front parking sensors. There is also a possibility of a rear-seat massage function, similar to the one introduced on the facelifted Kushaq earlier this year.
Other features are expected to remain unchanged. These include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless phone charger, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, single-pane sunroof, eight-speaker audio system, six airbags and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
The biggest update is expected under the bonnet.
The 1.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine producing 115 hp is likely to get a new 8-speed automatic gearbox, replacing the current 6-speed torque converter automatic.
Meanwhile, the 1.5-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine producing 150 hp is expected to continue with the 7-speed dual-clutch automatic (DCT). Manual gearbox options are also likely to remain available.
With the added features and updates, the Slavia facelift is expected to be priced slightly higher than the current model, which is priced between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 18.19 lakh (ex-showroom).
Once launched, it will continue to rival the Volkswagen Virtus, Hyundai Verna and Honda City in the mid-size sedan segment.
