Skoda has started production of the Slavia facelift at its Pune plant. The updated sedan gets an 8-speed automatic, rear-seat massage and a 360-degree camera. AI-powered infotainment with Google Cloud is another major new feature.
Skoda Auto Volkswagen India has started production of the updated Skoda Slavia at its Chakan plant in Pune. The facelifted sedan is set to arrive in India soon, with the launch expected ahead of the festive season. The new Slavia gets several updates to its technology, comfort and powertrain. The biggest changes include a new 8-speed automatic gearbox, rear-seat massage function, 360-degree camera and AI-powered infotainment.
New 8-Speed Automatic
One of the biggest changes is the new 8-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox for the 1.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine. The new gearbox replaces the previous automatic setup offered with the smaller turbo-petrol engine. The 1.5-litre TSI engine is expected to continue with the 7-speed DSG automatic.

Rear Seat Massage Function
The updated Slavia gets a segment-first rear-seat massage function, adding more comfort for passengers sitting in the back. The sedan also gets a 360-degree Area View camera, which gives a clearer view around the car and can make parking easier in tight spaces.
AI-Powered Infotainment
Another major addition is an AI Companion powered by Google Cloud. This brings new AI-based functions to the Slavia's infotainment system. Skoda has also made updates across the car's design, comfort, convenience and safety features. However, the complete variant-wise equipment list is yet to be revealed.
5-Star Safety Rating
The Slavia continues with its 5-star Global NCAP safety rating. Skoda has not announced any major structural changes with this facelift. The updated model is being produced ahead of the festive season, when demand for new cars generally increases.
Nearly 80,000 Slavia Sold
The Skoda Slavia has already built a strong presence in the Indian market, with nearly 80,000 units sold since its launch. Skoda says the sedan now holds close to 30 per cent of its segment. Skoda Auto Volkswagen India currently has two manufacturing facilities with a combined annual production capacity of 3.15 lakh vehicles. The group crossed the 2 million locally produced vehicle milestone in 2025 and has exported more than 7.25 lakh vehicles to over 40 countries.
Skoda Slavia Facelift Launch Soon
With production now underway, the Skoda Slavia facelift launch is expected soon. The updated sedan will bring a new automatic gearbox along with several technology and comfort upgrades. Skoda is yet to reveal the complete variant lineup and prices, which are expected to be announced closer to the market launch.
