Nissan Tekton and Maruti Brezza Facelift Deliveries Begins

Nissan Tekton deliveries begin, priced between 10.49 lakh and Rs 18.59 lakh Maruti Brezza facelift price starts at Rs 7.40 lakh

Deliveries of the two recently launched SUVs, the Nissan Tekton and Maruti Suzuki Brezza facelift have officially been commenced across India. One of the videos on the Internet shows an Onyx Black finished Tekton SUV delivered to a family in Gujarat. On the other hand, the other video shows delivery of the top-spec Boosterjet turbo manual variant of the Brezza is being delivered to a family.

Nissan Tekton

The Tekton is priced in the range of Rs 10.49 lakh to Rs 18.59 lakh, ex-showroom.The new Nissan Tekton is available with two engine options - a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, turbocharged petrol with a 6-speed MT and a 1.3-litre 4-cylinder turbo petrol. While the former, paired to a 6MT, is capable of producing 99bhp and 166Nm of torque, the 1.3L turbo petrol engine produces 160bhp and 280Nm of torque. Transmission choices for the 1.3L turbo unit includes a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic unit.

The 1.0L MT version is claimed to return an ARAI certified mileage of 19.5kmpl, while the 1.3L MT and DCT delivers 17.8kmpl and 18.5kmpl, respectively. The new Nissan Tekton has received full five-star BNCAP crash test rating. It has scored 30.49 out of the maximum 32 for adult occupant protection, and 45 out of 49 for child occupant protection.

The new Maruti Brezza facelift is available in 4 trim levels - LXi, VXi, ZXi and ZXi+ and in total of 13 variants. The SUV is available in the price bracket of Rs 7.40 lakh to Rs 13.70 lakh. The updated Brezza gets a new 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, direct-injection turbo-petrol engine that produces 110hp and 170Nm of torque. Adding to it, the SUV retains the 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, naturally-aspirated unit that is good for 103hp and 139Nm of torque. This engine also comes with a CNG kit; however, the Brezza facelift now gets an underbody-mounted CNK kit similar to the Maruti Suzuki Victoris. A six-speed manual gearbox is available as standard, while the 1.5L unit also gets a 6-speed torque converter automatic unit.

The Brezza 1.0L Turbo version is claimed to return up to 20.47kmpl, while the 1.5L NA version delivers up to 21.09kmpl. The Brezza 1.5L AT version delivers a certified fuel economy of 20.17kmpl. Its CNG version delivers 26.90 km/kg. The Brezza facelift also receives a 5-star crash safety rating for both adult occupant protection (AOP) and child occupant protection (COP) tests. The new Maruti Brezza facelift scored 30.41 points out of the maximum 32 points for adult occupant protection. For the COP, the SUV scored 43 points out of the maximum 49 points.
