Nissan 7-Seater SUV For India Confirmed; Launch Timeline and Details

Nissan to launch Tekton based 7-seater SUV in Q1, 2027 To rival Mahindra XUV 7XO and Tata Safari

At the launch event of the Tekton midsize SUV, Nissan India has confirmed that the 7-seater SUV based on the Tekton’s architecture will be launched in our market in the Q1, 2027. Details on the new 7-seater Nissan SUV are yet to be released; however, it will be locally developed at Renault’s Chennai based plant. For people not in the know, Renault will also launch its own 7-seater SUV based on the Duster’s architecture.

The upcoming 7-seater Nissan SUV will be based on the modified version of the RGMP (Renault Global Modular Platform), which can be used to produce vehicles with wheelbase up to 2700mm. The SUV is expected to have the same 2700mm wheelbase, and will retain the Patrol-inspired looks. The longer wheelbase will allow Nissan engineers to create space to accommodate third-row seats. The design will receive some changes to offer fresh look.

The SUV is expected to be offered with 6 and 7-seat layout with former having captain seats in the second-row. The cabin layout is expected to be similar to the 5-seater sibling. It is likely to get the same 10.25-inch digital instrument console, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Google integration, a wireless phone charger, powered and ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, a powered tailgate and more.

For the safety and security, the new Nissan 7-seater SUV will come equipped with LEVEL-2 ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) with features like adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane assist and others. Other safety features will include a 360-degree surround view camera with blind spot monitoring, 6 airbags, electronic parking brake with auto hold, and others.

The upcoming Nissan 7-seater SUV is expected to be powered by the 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. This engine is capable of producing 160bhp and a peak torque of 280Nm.
