Audi Q4 e-tron Updated - Gets Bidirectional Charging Tech

Audi Q4 e-tron now gets bidirectional charging tech. Faster charging and improved range across variants. New infotainment system with ChatGPT integration.

Audi has updated its popular electric SUV, the Audi Q4 e-tron, with a range of new features and improvements. The refreshed model will go on sale in Europe from May 2026, with deliveries expected to begin soon after.

Now Supports Bidirectional Charging

The biggest highlight of the update is bidirectional charging, making the Q4 e-tron the first Audi model to offer this feature.

With this technology, the SUV can supply power to external devices through Vehicle-to-Load (V2L). It can also support Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) in select markets, allowing the battery to power a home or store energy from solar panels.

Faster Charging and Improved Range

Audi has improved the charging performance of the Q4 e-tron. The 82 kWh Quattro variants now support up to 185 kW DC fast charging, allowing a 10 to 80 percent charge in around 27 minutes.

Efficiency improvements in the motor and drivetrain have also increased the driving range. The top-spec Sportback version can now deliver up to 592 km on a single charge, while other variants also see noticeable gains.

New Interior and Smart Features

Inside, the Q4 e-tron gets a refreshed cabin with a new digital interface setup. It includes an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

The updated infotainment system now supports ChatGPT integration, enabling smarter voice commands and better user interaction.

Other updates include wireless charging pads, new ambient lighting, and improved interior materials for a more premium feel.

Updated Design and Practicality

The exterior also sees subtle changes, including new LED lighting elements with customisable signatures. The rear features updated OLED tail-lamps for better visibility and styling.

Practicality has improved as well, with a larger usable boot space and a standard electric tailgate. The towing capacity of Quattro variants has also increased.
