Celebrating 50 years of its M-Performance Division, BMW India has launched the M340i xDrive 50 Jahre in India. The sportiest version of the 3-Series is available at a price tag of Rs 68.90 lakh (ex-showroom) and gets major cosmetic changes. This is the first in a line of 10 models planned for India and will be locally assembled at the brand’s Chennai facility.
The Anniversary model will sport major cosmetic changes that help differentiate it from the standard 340i. These include, a gloss-black kidney grille, black mirror caps, 19-inch jet black alloy wheels and ’50 years of M’ badging.

Other highlights on the Special Edition model are exclusive Dravit Grey and Tanzanite Blue colours, M-specific upholstery in a Sensatec/ Alcantara, M leather steering wheel, M seat belt and interior trim in piano black finish. In addition to these, the car will come with standard features like ambient lighting with 6 dimmable light designs, 3-zone automatic A/C and welcome light carpet.
The latest model will come powered by the familiar 3.0-litre straight-six petrol engine producing a maximum power output of 387bhp with a peak torque of 500 Nm. The vehicle can complete the 0-100 kmph sprint in just 4.4 seconds. Helping its sporty intent, the four-wheeler also produces characteristic sound from its M Sport exhaust unit.

In addition, the M340i xDrive 50 Jahre M Edition can be customized with two optional 50 Years of M packages – Motorsports Pack and Carbon Pack. Using these packs customers can further enhance the sporty appearance and character of the car.
