The BYD under its sub-brand Yangwang, has showcased the U8 in India at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. This is a large full-size SUV that provides great luxury and offers a claimed range that is double that of most electric SUVs.
Let's have a look at everything you need to know about this SUV.
The Yangwang U8 features a traditional boxy SUV silhouette and a pixelated pattern grille, and the same pattern can be seen inside the headlights and DRL housings. Apart from that, the SUV comes with squared wheel arches, blacked-out wheels, and flush-type door handles.
At the rear side of the model, there’s a large tailgate-mounted spare wheel, while the LED tail lights repeat the same pixelated pattern design.
The interior of the U8 screams luxury as it gets soft-touch leather materials across the dashboard. The SUV features a large vertically oriented infotainment screen placed above the few physical buttons, a large driver's display, and entertainment screens for the co-driver and rear passengers as well.
The feature list also includes multi-zone AC, a panoramic sunroof, a 22-speaker sound system, and powered and ventilated front seats.
The YangWang U8 offers a plug-in hybrid powertrain that features a large battery pack and a petrol engine which together produce a combined range of 1000 km. The SUV comes with four independent motors that together produce a massive power output of up to 1183.58 BHP.
Well, there is no confirmation by BYD for the launch of this SUV, yet it might actually make great alternatives to premium SUVs like Land Rover Range Rover, BMW X7, and Mercedes-Benz GLS.
