How to Upgrade Your Old Car with ADAS

Do you own a car which is more than 4 years old? Is safety the primary concern for you and your family? Then need not worry as Rosmerta Technologies Limited has you covered. It is an auto-tech company which is based out of New Delhi. The organisation has unveiled its AI-based Driver Monitoring and Alert System at the recently concluded Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024. The system is initially targeting fleet operators while offering features such as real-time tracking, video AI-based driver behaviour monitoring and in-cabin alerts for vehicles.

Heart of the Matter

How does it all come together? The device employs 2 cameras, IR blasters, GPS with SIM connectivity and G-sensors to monitor vehicle acceleration and braking. 1 camera observes road conditions, while the 2nd one monitors the driver's actions to ensure that the driver is following traffic rules while detecting traffic signs like the speed limit, stop signs and a lot more.

Some of its key features are as follows:

  • Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS): DMS employs Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) to monitor driver behaviour, addressing issues such as speeding, red light violations and fatigue essentially making every car ADAS enabled.
  • Cellular Vehicle-to-Everything (CV2X) Integration: The device will work in harmony with other vehicles, infrastructure and pedestrians, creating a connected and secure road environment.
  • Vision AI and M2M Connectivity: Using their own Vision AI model and M2M connectivity, this device brings ADAS features to all cars in a minimalist and cost-effective manner.
  • Incident and Video Capture Logic: DMS focuses on capturing incidents and videos in a way that relates to human behaviour, making it intuitive and effective.

make any car ADAS-enabled

Having packaged all the technologies together, what Rosmerta intends to do is to give vehicle owners the flexibility of enjoying ADAS level 0 functionality at a fraction of the cost. It ensures not only the driver’s safety but for the occupants as well. As a first step in the implementation process, the brand looks to target fleet operators where safety is a primary concern. This does not mean that private car owners should shy away from upgrading, especially if their car is old.
